When your exhibition grows complexity grows with it

PLMA's World of Private Label
General contractingExhibitions

You are organizing an international exhibition featuring exhibitors from dozens of countries, multiple halls, and a tight setup schedule. Even a minor error in planning or technical execution could have immediate consequences for dozens of stands. At PLMA’s World of Private Label, for example, the event spans 45,000 square meters with 3,200 exhibitors from 75 countries. To keep this manageable, PLMA works with a single partner to coordinate the entire event.

When scale demands clear coordination

When thousands of exhibitors order services simultaneously, you don't want your questions going to five different parties. With 3,200 exhibitors from 75 countries, the overlap of planning, technical details, and communication is constant. One change can affect multiple halls. By centralizing execution, the PLMA team can focus on strategy, sales, and marketing while floor operations continue seamlessly.

From fragmentation to a single point of contact

During preparations, hundreds of requests arrive at once: electricity, furniture, AV, and graphic production. As an organizer, you don’t want to coordinate every single request yourself. The general contracting team handles the technical coordination of the exhibition. You report what is needed; we manage the alignment with the venue and suppliers. On the floor, this includes:

  • Electrical and water connections

  • Furniture and floor covering

  • Graphic production and assembly

  • AV facilities

  • Greenery and decoration

This keeps requests organized, even when thousands of exhibitors order services at the same time.

The strength of
30 years of experience

While technology lays the foundation, it’s the people who make the difference. Gielissen has been a partner of PLMA for over 30 years. Our team of project managers, event coordinators, and account managers knows the show inside and out. For you as an organizer, this means peace of mind: you rely on a smart ordering system, but you can count on the people who know the exhibition floor inside and out.

Direct action
when things change

Something always changes during the buildup and exhibition days—an extra connection, a last-minute order, or a question from an exhibitor, for example. That is why, from the first day of setup, there is one service desk acting as a single point of contact. You only need to report a change once, and the team will manage its execution with the venue and suppliers.

Preparation starts months earlier

Errors easily slip in when exhibitors order via email or Excel. At PLMA, however, exhibitors arrange their stands and services through a stand configurator. They also use this system to order items such as electricity, furniture, and AV equipment. As a result, everything goes directly into a single plan, which reduces the administrative pressure on the organizing team. At the organizer’s request, insight into orders and requirements can be provided.

Uniform where necessary
flexible where possible

Although exhibitors want their own branding, an exhibition floor must look consistent. At PLMA, we combine 9,200 square meters of shell scheme construction with nearly 60 unique custom stands. Within this framework, the exhibition infrastructure remains predictable, and exhibitors can customize their stands to fit their brand.

Control until
after the opening

Everything must be tested and connected by opening day. To visitors, PLMA appears as one cohesive entity. Behind the scenes, clear processes and dedicated teams ensure that the installations, stands, and services are ready before the doors open. You maintain an overview while execution proceeds according to plan.
