Bespoke design
and Michelin stars
Botanic Sanctuary AntwerpEverything at Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp exudes luxury and well-being. Housed in a historic monastery and listed building in the heart of Antwerp, this superior five-star hotel strives to match the very best in the world. At that level, each and every detail enhances the guest’s experience. So, the challenge for Gielissen was to create an interior design that was nothing short of spectacular.

Pure class
with onyx and ebony
For this project, we unleashed our craftsmanship on the most exclusive materials imaginable. The bar and wall finishes at Henry's Bar are a great example. With the architect and client, we went in search of the most stunning materials Mother Earth has to offer. The outcome: two breathtaking creations.
The bar counter is a feast for the eyes. We chose onyx, a natural stone that beautifully intermingles lush, earthy tones. For the wall panels, we used Macassar ebony, a rare and dense type of wood. The materials’ natural grain and warm tints create a luxurious and exclusive feel.

Five historic
buildings
In addition to Henry’s Bar, we installed permanent interior elements in five historic buildings. The moment you step into the hotel, the exceptional reception desks tell you that you have entered a unique place. We maintain this sense of uniqueness in the cabinet walls, decorative display cases, and counters. Our expert craftsmanship is also displayed in the library and wine cellar.

A world-class
project
These impressive details make Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp a destination in itself, where guests marvel at its spectacular interior. The hotel is full of stories. Even before the official opening, it had garnered three Michelin stars! And the remodeling process, which was completed in the spring of 2022, even starred in its own TV series. A world-class project.
