Carlton Beach Hotel, ScheveningenThe new interior breathes the dunes and follows the sun. Following a major renovation, the iconic Carlton Beach Hotel boasts a warm and personal character. Everything from the restaurant and bar to the Beach Business meeting spaces on the ground and first floors was completely renewed.
Rounded, reflective
and realistic
From the self-check-in counter with mirrored panels and curved lines to the oval bar with integrated lighting, almost every piece of fixed furniture is custom-made. The rounded design language extends to the ceiling, where lighting and air circulation are subtly integrated for a clean appearance that is easy to maintain.
Smart within
the timeline
The schedule was tight and coordination was intensive. Furniture was produced while construction was still underway. A floor template was created for the curved lounge bench so the poured floor could be cast seamlessly around it. The lowered ceilings were designed with sliding access panels for maintenance, without any visible seams or disruption to the clean lines.
A story across floors
The same custom detailing continues on the first floor in seating areas, coffee counters and window benches. The materials and forms align with those of the ground floor: warm wood, earthy tones, and soft gradients. So each level feels like part of the same sunlit story.
