Flexible pavilion for the port community

“RPPC has had a strong presence at international trade fairs for years, with a recognisable pavilion where companies from the port region present themselves together,” says Schaap. “Gielissen has been responsible for the design and construction. And after a competitive tender, we will continue in that role for the next three years.”

As part of the new concept, aluminium frames with integrated LED lighting have been introduced. These form the foundation of a modular system that is both flexible and sustainable.

Participants in the spotlight

The pavilion accommodates various types of participants: from logo displays to compact pods and mini-stands of around 16 square metres. All elements are modular, freestanding or integrated into the frame. “More than ever, the design puts the participants centre stage,” says Schaap. “They are given more space and visibility within the overall concept.”

Open square as a meeting place

At larger trade fairs like Breakbulk, the pavilion is organized around an open central square. “This open area strengthens the connection between participants and highlights the collective nature of the port community,” Schaap explains. “At smaller events, the system is scaled down but retains the same look and feel.”

Continuing to build together

In the coming years, the pavilion will appear at events such as ECE in Berlin, Offshore Energy in Amsterdam, Europort in Rotterdam, and Transport Logistic München 2025 in Munich. “We’re proud to continue this collaboration,” says Schaap. “This concept gives participants a real platform, and keeps us flexible. Exactly what’s needed.”
